Frequently Asked Questions
What should my student wear?/What is the dress code?
Your student should wear something they are comfortable in! It is recommended that they wear something that they feel good in, but they do not have to dress up. If possible, please no hats, ripped jeans, or clothing with writing on it (unless it says Idlehurst). Dresses, pants, skirts, Idlehurst shirts, polos, etc. are all welcome!
What is proper crowd concert etiquette?
Thank you for wondering! Proper concert etiquette from the crowd is really important to ensure a successful performance for our students. We ask that you stay off your phones (recordings are allowed), wait until the end of the songs to clap, and stay sitting at all times. Each grade will be performing 3-4 songs, and once the performance is over, you are free to find your student and leave. Getting up and leaving mid performance can be extremely distracting for students, as well as standing up and waving at your student. Thank you for wanting to give our students the best experience possible!
When should I arrive at the concert?
It is recommended you arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to your students performance time. Performance times are by grade. Kindergarten will be starting promptly at 6:30PM, followed by Grade 1 at 7:00PM, and Grade 2 at 7:30PM. If you arrive past the performance time, the concert may have already started. Attendance will not be taken so we will not be waiting for any late comers.
Am I allowed to leave once my student performs?
Yes, you are able to leave once your student performs. It is recommended so that the room doesn't get overcrowded and to limit interruptions during performances.
What if I have multiple students in different grades?
You do not have to leave and come back for different grade's performances. Please stay for the duration of all of your students' performances. We just ask that you wait until the grade's performance is over to leave, not in between songs.
